Details
These exquisite antique Victorian Bohemian garnet drop earrings are remarkable survivors of the late 19th-century Gothic Revival era. The pair feature two daisy-shaped clusters, each centred with a domed cabochon garnet, encircled by rose-cut petals, skilfully faceted to glitter beside the soft flicker of candlelight. They may have been acquired during a romantic Grand Tour across Europe, with the smouldering garnets displaying a deep, fiery inner glow long associated with passion and romance, while the floral daisy drops symbolise a love in full bloom.
The earrings have remained in excellent condition for over a century. Their closed-back tombac construction stands as a testament to Victorian craftsmanship, with a soft gold gilt still glowing across the surface. They would make the perfect gift for someone who appreciates the dark, romantic elegance of the Victorian era, continuing their long, storied history into the modern day.
