Product Details
A stylish antique Victorian gate bracelet beautifully preserved from the late 1800s. The chunky gold curb links are all stamped 9ct and have developed a desirable rosy patina with age.
It’s held securely around the wrist by a safety chain and large heart padlock clasp which were often gifted by Victorian gentlemen to their loved ones during long periods of separation, as a symbol of the couple’s strong commitment to one another.
A cross and horseshoe charm have also been added to the piece over time and are both 9ct gold and complete with Birmingham and London hallmarks, which date them to 1968 and 1973.
Gate bracelets are as sought after today as they were back in the 1800s and this is a particularly fine example that would make a beautiful gift for a loved one.
