Product Details
This grand antique Victorian double albert chain is crafted in Sterling Silver and gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold. Every link in the chain, the clasp, T-bar and medallion are stamped with Sterling Silver hallmarks.
The clasp is also complete with Birmingham hallmarks, and dated 1896. The slightly later addition of the T-bar is dated 1900.
The contemporary medallion has been crafted in exactly the same materials, complete with Birmingham hallmarks, which date the piece to 1939, and has also been engraved with the words:
Thomas Fattorn Limited - Birmingham
Tamplins Hailsham Lge
1939
W.Tester
The medallion depicts a dartboard motif, with the flights of three darts visible at the top, beneath a decorative swirl. The laurels which flank the dartboard indicate that it was awarded for excellence in the sport, and the overall shield shape indicates that it was a reward for a particular tournament, although the exact details have been lost to time.
This is an extremely interesting piece, and a great union of components.
