A fabulous antique 18ct gold ring from the late Victorian era depicting a coiled snake crowned with a pear cut emerald (approx. 0.25ct) and diamond eyes.
Serpent rings became popular in the Victorian era, after Prince Albert gifted the young Queen Victoria with a serpent ring during their courtship. The snake came to symbolise an enduring love and friendship with its coiled shape representing eternity.
It looks wonderful wrapped around the finger and is complete with the maker’s initials and London hallmarks which date it to 1877.
