Product Details
A grand pair of antique Victorian Etruscan revival drop earrings, both fashioned in a warm 18ct yellow gold. The galleries are made up of three swinging sections, decorated with ornate Etruscan-style metalwork and a flower in the centre. A faceted, egg-shaped dropper also hangs from the bottom, adorned with a cherry-pink paste stone that resembles a ruby.
Etruscan revival pieces were crafted in the late 1800s after ancient Etruscan jewellery was unearthed in tombs outside of Rome, beginning a fascination with the style and giving birth to these beautiful pieces which were crafted in the same grand and elaborate fashion.
These are a wonderful pair of antique Victorian earrings, dating to the late 19th Century. They’re both in excellent condition and are accompanied by their original antique box, featuring a brown leatherette exterior and a plush, velvet cushion inside for the earrings to rest on.
