Product Details
An exquisite antique Etruscan revival brooch from the mid-Victorian era (Circa 1860) built around a deep red cabochon garnet bulging from the centre. It’s topped with a pearl star and bezel set in an ornate 18ct gold frame with further seed pearls around the edge.
Etruscan revival pieces were crafted in the late 1800s after ancient Etruscan jewellery was unearthed in tombs outside of Rome, beginning a fascination with the style and giving birth to these beautiful pieces which were crafted in the same grand and elaborate fashion.
It’s a sweet antique treasure and looks to have been converted from a rotating pendant and still has its original bolt attachments at the side but has been fitted with a new pin and catch over time to create the fabulous brooch we have here today.
