This Victorian 15ct Yellow Gold Suffragette pendant is beautiful, Circa 1900.
The pendant is adorned with a 4 green Peridots that surround the Amethyst in the centre. The Pearls are decorated all round the pendant in a floral style gallery, which leads to a Pearl dropper.
Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking.
The Peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty and was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature.
Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty and legendary powers to stimulate and soothe the mind and emotions.
