This beautiful Antique Victorian French long sautoir chain has been modelled in Silver gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold. It features a cable chain design with larger fancy links spaced five inches apart which feature a lovely spiral form within.
A Sautoir necklace is a French term for a long chain that runs down to the waist. They were popular in the late 1800s and were often worn looped multiple times around the neck to create a long cascading piece.
A wonderful chain and a fantastic piece of history which comes with a trigger clasp to keep it secure when worn.
