Details
This marvellous antique Victorian Harlequin bracelet dazzles with a vibrant assortment of natural emerald-cut gemstones, including serene blue aquamarines, rich purple amethysts, golden citrines, and a spectrum of other beautifully coloured quartz. Each stone is securely set in an 18ct yellow gold claw link, designed to articulate fluidly, with ornate, twisted embellishments thoughtfully added between each gem.
As its name suggests, Harlequin jewellery takes inspiration from the vivid patchwork costumes of the 16th-century Commedia dell’arte characters. The style flourished in the 19th century, producing wonderfully expressive pieces adorned with a rainbow of gemstones, creating fashionable accessories that were both luxurious and delightfully playful.
Today, this exceptional antique bracelet remains in excellent condition thanks to its secure box clasp and safety catch. A true statement piece, it’s perfect for those drawn to colourful antique jewellery, with its joyful palette bringing a radiant pop of colour to any ensemble.
