Product Details
A colourful antique Victorian harlequin bracelet from the late 19th Century made up of twisted 18ct gold curb links. The larger links are topped with an alternating pattern of green and pink tourmalines, purple amethysts, orange citrines, and blue aquamarines and sapphires (approx. 0.25 – 0.70ct each).
Harlequin jewellery is named after the colourful costumes of the 16th century comedy actors of the same name. The style was popular during the 19th Century and saw wonderful pieces of jewellery abundantly decorated in coloured gemstones.
It’s a charming piece and is held securely by a safety chain and box clasp stamped with an 18ct Owl mark, indicating it was later imported and assayed in France.
We recommend you insure for £2,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
