An exquisite Antique Victorian collar from the late 19th Century featuring a fabulous locket with an embossed border and Ivy leaves etched in the centre encircled by a wreath.
The locket is connected by a large ring clasp to the collar which is made up of ornate links engraved with further foliate motifs and Forget me nots.
Forget me nots and Ivy were popular motifs in the Victorian era and carried a long-lasting symbolism of eternal love and remembrance which is why they were popularly featured on lockets which contained images of loved ones.
The piece is all Silver and given an 18ct Yellow Gold finish. It’s in excellent condition and complete with rims and windows within the locket so two cherished photographs can be stored and kept close to the heart.
