Dating to the late 19th Century, these fabulous antique Victorian Lover’s knot drop earrings have been skilfully crafted in sunny 9ct yellow gold. They depict a classic Victorian Love knot motif made from tightly knotted gold wires, with gold pommels and hook wires on top.
The Lover’s knot symbolises eternal love and unbreakable bonds, with its continuous, interlacing form representing a commitment with no beginning or end. In the Victorian era it also came to stand for fidelity and unity, reflecting two lives bound together, echoing the tradition behind the phrase “tying the knot.”
