This beautiful antique Micro Mosaic bird pendant/ brooch is Victorian, Circa 1860.
The delightful piece features a central Mosaic made up of micro pieces creating a vibrant image of tall exotic birds feeding in the foliage.
Victorian jewellery mirrored Queen Victoria’s life with the ‘Romantic’ period producing decorative animal, bird and pet pieces, symbolising the monarch’s sentimental side.
The rest of the gallery is also decorated in Micro Mosaic patterns which are beautifully put together by a true master of the craft.
Set in 18ct Gold gilt and fitted with a sturdy pin on the reverse.
The piece is a true work of art and can be worn as a brooch or hung from a chain!
