Details
A classy antique Victorian dropper necklace adorned with a fringe of eleven graduated cabochon moonstones, emitting a ghostly blue glow that shimmers and intensifies with the light. They’re framed in silver settings and join a fine silver cable chain and hook clasp, all gilded in 18ct yellow gold.
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
Dating to the late 19th Century, this glamorous Victorian moonstone necklace has remained in excellent condition and exhibits a dreamy collection of natural moonstones that look gorgeous draped around the neck.
