Details
A fascinating Antique Victorian mourning bracelet from the mid 19th Century made up of four strands of finely plaited brown hair which is then twisted together to form a beautiful, thick band.
Mourning jewellery was worn in remembrance of a deceased loved one and sometimes contained the hair of a loved one so that a piece of them was always kept close to the wearer.
The hair band is connected by a hinged box fastener which is fashioned in silver, gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold and engraved with lovely floral patterning.
A unique piece of history. It has been lovingly preserved and is in good condition for its age.
