Details
This majestic antique Edwardian opal diamond pendant is fashioned in sterling silver and 18ct gold and claw set with a striking natural opal cabochon at its heart, weighing approx. 4 carats. The stone is aflame with vivid green, blue, purple and orange embers that shimmer beneath the surface like a fiery rainbow and is framed by a scrolling, open-work wreath of twinkling old mine cut diamonds (approx. 1ct total).
Opal is the birthstone of October and is often regarded as a symbol of luck, creativity, and passion. Its enchanting play of fiery colours contrasts beautifully with the brilliance of diamonds, evoking a mesmerising display reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis shimmering across a star-lit sky.
This stunning Edwardian opal diamond pendant necklace showcases the intricate craftsmanship and timeless elegance of the period, with a spectacular arrangement of natural gems on display. It dates to the early 20th century and is accompanied by a fine platinum chain, accented by eight additional old cut diamonds.
