This fabulous antique Victorian necklace is encrusted with sparkling Paste stones which looks just like Diamonds. Circa 1890
The necklace boasts a beautiful large central flower and smaller flowers surrounding with gorgeous detailing all round.
Set in Sterling Silver this is a beautiful piece of jewellery.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.
Several hallmarks are set into the reverse of the necklace.
Steeped in Victorian history, the necklace is also complete with a safety chain.
