This beautiful Victorian butterfly brooch has been sculpted in silver. It contains sixty two clear, four green and two pink paste stones, the last of which are set as the butterfly’s eyes.
Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. White Pastes sparkle just like Diamonds and take expert craftsmanship to capture their beauty.
Butterfly or insect jewellery is highly collectable and was once considered a symbol of good luck to the wearer during the Victorian Era.
It is an impressive example of the craftsmanship and skill of the Victorian era, and a true treasure.
