This beautiful Pavé Set Turquoise ring is set in 18ct Gold Circa 1890.
The ring has bright Turquoise's which graduate in size all around.
The pavé setting, pronounced “pa-vay,” comes from the French word “to pave,” such as paved in gemstones. By closely setting small gemstones together with minimal visibility of tiny metal beads or prongs, holding the stones in place, giving a beautiful effect.
Turquoise is known to have healing properties and protects the wearer from any negative energy, bringing in good fortune, it is also the symbol if friendship and brings peace to there home too.
Turquoise is also a symbol of forget me not. Forget-me-not, O Lord! is what a poor German knight shouted as he fell into a river. He and his lady were picking flowers by the side of the river at the time, no doubt enjoying the beautiful day around them, and yet as fate would have it, the knight's armour dragged him down to the bottom as he fell in. This little tale reportedly dates to around the 15th century, but no doubt had different permeations along the way, as romantic stories often do.
Turquoise fluctuates in colours as you can see there is a more green defined turquoise in this ring, this adds to its charm, they change colours with their journey in life.
