Details
This exquisite antique Georgian pearl pendant is crafted in 18ct yellow gold and showcases a stunning deep ocean-blue guilloché enamel centrepiece, with an intricate spiralling pattern beneath. A luminous natural pearl crowns the top, while smaller half seed pearls graduate up the bale and around the border, forming a delicate, glowing halo against the deep blue.
Guilloché enamel dates back to the 17th century and became increasingly popular in the Georgian era. The technique involves engraving fine patterns into the metal with a lathe, or “Rose Machine,” before overlaying it with translucent enamel, creating a strikingly detailed work of art.
Concealed at the back is a small round locket with a glass window. It’s perfect to store a small, treasured photograph of a loved one and opens on a hinge, with room within to add a second.
This fabulous Georgian enamel locket is both a sentimental treasure and a striking piece of wearable art. It’s a rare and highly collectable antique treasure, beautifully preserved from the late 19th Century and the perfect antique gift for a loved one.
