A stunning antique Victorian brooch pave set with five deep blue sapphires across the centre, framed in a border of twenty sparkling old mine cut diamonds. The sapphires graduate in size from 0.20 to 0.50ct (approx. 1.5ct total) and the diamonds weigh approx. 0.08 - 0.10ct each (2ct total).
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
The gallery is modelled in 18ct gold and has been fitted with a new pin and safety catch at the back. It's in excellent condition and boasts a dazzling collection of natural gems.
