Product Details
A wonderful antique Victorian horseshoe bangle from the late 19th Century, featuring a lucky horseshoe in the centre, set with an alternating pattern of old cushion cut diamonds and blue sapphires that also chase down each shoulder (approx. 0.50ct diamond, 0.85ct sapphire). It’s modelled in a muted 9ct yellow gold, with three connected rings making up the band at the back.
Horseshoes have long been a symbol of good luck and were even hung from the front of houses in the Victorian era to bring protection and good fortune to those within. They were also a popular motif for women who partook in activities such as horse riding and were worn as a symbol of their love for the sport.
This is a splendid antique Victorian bangle, all in excellent condition and held by a secure box clasp and safety chain at the side.
