Details
This beautiful antique Victorian locket dates to late 19th Century and is built around a double-sided locket, with a bow on top and a wreath around the border, decorated with twinkling old mine cut diamonds and eight cushion cut blue sapphires.
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its deep-blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
The piece is a union of sterling silver and 18ct gold and is complete with its original rims and windows and a blue fabric backing at the front, to match the sapphires. It’s a wonderful Victorian locket, all in excellent condition and the perfect place to store two treasured family photographs.
