A pretty Antique late Victorian pin topped with a colourful bee decorated with glistening Rose cut Diamonds across the wings, Ruby set eyes, a 0.60ct blue cabochon Sapphire abdomen and two Pearls one of which is crowned at the top of the pin.
Insect jewellery became popular at the turn of the 20th Century due to a renewed love of the natural world following the vast urbanisation of the country and were often decorated with colourful gemstones to enhance their beauty and value.
The piece is all 18ct Yellow Gold and in excellent condition. It’s highly collectable and would make a lovely gift for a loved one.
