An exquisite antique Scottish brooch from the mid Victorian era featuring a circle of polished plaid agates displaying a rainbow of earthy colours and natural patterning.
Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain.
The gallery is all solid silver with a decorative border and a concealed yellow agate halo behind it. It’s a wonderful antique find and highly collectable.

Age: Victorian. (Circa 1860 – 1880)
Condition: Good – A couple of small faults on two of the stones but this is minimal wear for its age
