A wonderful antique Victorian Scottish harp brooch C. 1860, set with lovely Agates cut to fit the intricate shape of the design.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
Agate has been nicknamed the earth rainbow for its patterned texture that shows varying colours the earth can produce. Each Agate is unique with beautiful natural colouring and polished to perfection.
The piece is set in Silver and features beautiful Silver wires across the front to form the strings of the harp.
A highly collectable Scottish piece and a great collector’s item.
