An exquisite antique Scottish brooch from the mid Victorian era depicting a large horn modelled in silver and inlaid with colourful agates along the length leading to an engraved thistle at the end, topped with an orange paste that emulates the beauty of a citrine. 

Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain. 

It’s a collectable antique treasure and has remained in excellent condition.
