This magnificent antique Victorian Sterling Silver Scottish Agate bracelet is Circa 1860.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
The bracelet consists of six barrel Agate links set in Sterling Silver and leading to a wonderful padlock pendant.
The padlock pendant is detachable and adorned with beautiful Agates, set in Sterling Silver with an engraved floral back.
Agate is a strong mineral sometimes known as the earth rainbow for it’s patterned texture that shows varying colours the earth can produce.
Each Agate is unique with a wonderful hue showing their natural grain from within.
Purchased in London and steeped in Victorian history. The bracelet looks outstanding when worn, a beautiful Scottish piece that deserves to be treasured.
This will fit a 6.5 inch wrist.
Each Agate link measures 25mm across x 11mm down.
Padlock measures 19mm across 19mm down.
