This fabulous Scottish Crown Shield brooch is set in Sterling Silver and surrounded by Quartz stones, Circa 1900.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her trips to Scotland. From the mid 1800's Queen Victoria frequented Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral.
The brooch is set with a large natural Cairngorm in the centre and surrounded by Red, Purple and Orange Quartz stones, finishing with a little Opal at the top of the shield.
The central Quartz is over 6ct in size.
An Opal is a kaleidoscope of rainbow colours shimmering and changing colours with the light, it radiate a myriad of colours such as blues, pinks, greens, turquoise and an inner orange.
Cairngorm is a type of Quartz found in the Cairngorm mountain range in Scotland. It is most commonly a yellow/brown colour and shines with radiant beauty.
All set in Sterling Silver displaying beautiful all round Scottish workmanship.
The brooch is steeped in Victorian history.
