Antique Victorian Scottish Silver Agate Bracelet Circa 1860 Forget Me Not

This is a fabulous Sterling silver Scottish Agate bracelet, Circa 1860.

Set with lots of lovely natural agates in a lovely

oval design set with Celtic silver forget me nots

“Forget-me-not, O Lord!” is what a poor German

knight shouted as he fell into a river.

He and his lady were picking flowers by

the side of the river at the time.

Yet as fate would have it, the knight’s armour

dragged him down to the bottom as he fell in.

Upon his cries to the Lord, he threw the blue

posy of flowers to his loved one and promptly drowned.

This little tale reportedly dates to around the 15th century,

but no doubt had different permeations along the way,

as romantic stories often do.

Scottish Jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it

became a souvenir of her trips to Scotland. From the mid 1800's

Queen Victoria frequented Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral.

The jewellery comprises of different coloured Agates and

Carnelian with the natural graining of the stone showing through.

The agates have a lovely colour and warmth showing their natural

grain from within.

This bracelet has a beautiful finish leading to a secure clasp.

Developed a lovely smoothness with age.

Complete with a safety chain too.

Weighs 15.4 grams

Will fit a 6.5 inch wrist
