This fabulous antique Silver Crescent moon Paste Brooch is genuine Victorian Circa 1860.
The wonderful brooch depicts a crescent moon adorned with sparkling white Paste Stones graduating in size.
Star and Moon images became popular during the late 19th Century as an interest in astronomy grew.
Crescent moons were a symbol of the feminine moon goddess and represented change and female empowerment in the Victorian Era.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. They sparkle just like Diamonds, captivating the allure of natures beauty.
All set in Silver and complete with original pin and C catch.
Purchased in London and steeped in English history.
Looks fabulous when worn, a great talking piece.
