This highly prized Suffragette bangle is fabulous, boasting a double heart and set in 18ct Gold.
Circa 1900.
The hearts are Amethyst and Peridot with a lovely Pearl sat above them.
Each cabochon cut heart is over 2ct in size.
Emmeline Pankhurst was the leader of the British Suffragette movement in the 19th century and through her efforts won the right for women to vote.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine. Their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
