This fabulous Suffragette Victorian pendant necklace is set in Sterling Silver, Circa 1905.
The pendant is adorned in sparkling white, pink and green Paste Stones that represent the Suffragette movement.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine. Their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking.
Give Women Votes. Green is for give, White is for women and Violet is for votes.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass Pastes.
This really makes a statement, it looks stunning when worn.
It is steeped in history, a wonderful piece of its time.
