This fabulous 18ct Yellow Gold Suffragette ring is Circa 1900.

The ring is set with sparkling Diamonds, with Amethyst’s and Peridots surrounding them in a cluster like gallery, which follows round to a Diamond on each shoulder.

The combination of stones represents such a powerful time.

Emmeline Pankhurst was the leader of the British Suffragette movement in the 19th century and through her efforts won the right for women to vote.

Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking.

Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
