This fabulous antique Victorian 18ct Gold Suffragette ring is Circa 1900.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
The beautiful ring is adorned with two violet Amethyst, two sparkling Diamonds and a rich green Peridot in the centre.
Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty which has adorned regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The Peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty and was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature.
Each Diamond is 0.05ct each and superb cut, colour and clarity - SI 1 H Colour.
All set in 18ct Yellow Gold and complete with hallmarks on the inside of the shank.
