A magnificent antique Victorian 18ct gold pendant depicting a twelve-pointed star decorated with lustrous natural pearls and polished cabochon turquoise around the outside with a tiered gallery in the centre encrusted with three additional pearls, twinkling diamonds and a ring of turquoise segments ranging from pale blue to emerald green.Ā Ā Ā
Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. Stars were a popular lucky charm to be wished upon and were said to guide us on the path to our dreams and our true destiny.Ā
Itās a striking antique find and looks to have started life as a brooch but has since been converted into a wonderful pendant with the addition of a new loop at the back. It would look perfect on the end of a gold chain and showcases a gorgeous array of complementary gemstones.Ā
