Product Details
A romantic “Toi et Moi” ring made in France in the early 20th century. The face is adorned with two large pearls entwined with a looping band set with twinkling diamonds (approx. 0.50ct total).
“Toi et Moi” is French for “You and me”. The style was made popular after the marriage of Josephine Beauharnais to Napoleon Bonaparte in 1796. The future emperor of Frances family was displeased with the union but their love for one another was two great and they married regardless. Her ring was famously adorned with a matching sapphire and diamond that symbolised the coming together of two souls.
The piece is all 18ct white gold and complete with French hallmarks on the outside of the shank. It would make a perfect engagement ring with a lovely sentiment attached.
We recommend you insure for £2,200. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
