Product Details
A glamorous Art Deco Duette brooch made in France, Circa 1930. The brooches ingenious design allows it to be split apart from the base to form two matching dress clips. It’s all crafted in silver and decorated with a glistening array of round and step cut pastes, with seven cushion cut synthetic rubies on each side with a striking cherry-pink hue (approx. 7ct total).
Duette pins were introduced by Cartier in 1927 and were designed to be a versatile piece that could be worn as a brooch or two matching dress clips. Dress clips were at the height of popularity in the 1920s and were commonly worn at the neck of a dress or blouse but could also be added to cuffs, lapels, hats, or handbags.
It’s a wonderful geometric design that is quintessentially Deco in style and fitted with a secure pin and tube clasp on the back. It’s a highly collectable and versatile piece, perfect for a glamorous occasion and complete with French hallmarks and the maker’s initials on the reverse.
