A wonderful Kingfisher brooch made by Thomas Mott in 1923. Underneath a glass casing colourful shimmering Butterfly wings can be seen and make up a beautiful Kingfisher perched on a branch above water waiting patiently for its prey.
Butterfly wing jewellery derives its fabulous pattern and colour from the wings of various species of butterfly. The wings are only collected after the butterfly has passed and are given new life in these stunning jewellery pieces that show off their natural beauty.
The piece is set in a beautiful Sterling Silver gallery and complete with Birmingham hallmarks and the maker’s initials on the reverse. It’s a stunning work of art and fitted with a loop on top so it can also be worn as a pendant.
