Product Details
A colourful carved half hoop ring adorned with two green peridots, two cultured white pearls and a central violet amethyst. It’s modelled in silver, gilded in 18ct yellow gold and features scrolling artistry engraved down the sides and shoulders.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”
It’s a wonderful tribute to such an important movement and the alternating gems look fabulous lined up on top of the finger.
