A beautiful Suffragette tribute ring, adorned with two purple amethysts, a green peridot and four cultured seed pearls, set in a 9ct yellow gold carved half-hoop gallery with scrolled engraving down the sides and shoulders.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”
This fabulous Suffragette-inspired ring is complete with Birmingham hallmarks within the band and is a wonderful tribute to the movement, with a colourful collection of contrasting gems on top.
