Product Details
A colourful Suffragette tribute lavaliere necklace made up of long 9ct gold links leading to a pendulum dropper suspended from the bottom. They’re decorated with white pearls and pear cut green peridots and violet amethysts.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”
The fine chain is also 9ct gold and fitted with a secure spring ring clasp at the end complete with Birmingham hallmarks. It’s very beautiful and the gemstones contrast and complement each other beautifully.
