A fabulous Suffragette-inspired pendant, made in the Art Nouveau style, with scrolling, open-workmanship, decorated with twinkling white zirconia, green peridots, and a violet amethyst in the centre.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”
The pendant and accompanying chain are both sterling silver and have been given an 18ct yellow gold finish. It’s a wonderful design and would make a beautiful gift for a loved one.
