Product Details
This fabulous Victorian Scottish Silver brooch is Circa 1860.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
The wonderful brooch is set with a mixture of Agates, Jasper, Amethyst and Citrine gemstones which compliment each other superbly.
Agate is a strong mineral sometimes known as the earth rainbow for it’s patterned texture that shows varying colours the earth can produce.
Jasper is a stone grounded in nature with a wonderful rich speckled texture that comes in a variety of different earthy colours, from dark green to sandy brown.
Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty and legendary powers to stimulate and soothe the mind and emotions. The stone has adorned regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The name Citrine is derived from the colour - the yellow of lemon. Citrine is also known as Gold Topaz and is the birthstone for November.
The brooch is all set in a beautifully engraved Silver Scottish gallery.
This is a stunning Scottish brooch that is steeped in Victorian history, a wonderful collectable piece.
