This colourful Victorian style acrostic ring contains seven gemstones; a single diamond, two emeralds, an amethyst, a ruby, a sapphire and a tourmaline. Together the first letter of each gem spells out the word “Dearest”. 

Acrostic jewellery was at the height of popularity during the Victorian era and was used to express secret, romantic messages spelt out in gemstones to their beloved during a time when there were strict rules and restrictions surrounding a couple’s courtship.
