A beautiful mid-20th-century vintage amethyst bracelet, adorned with six well-matched oval amethysts (approx. 3ct each), displaying a soft lavender-violet hue. The stones are securely set in 9ct gold settings, joined by delicate openwork navette links. It’s finished with a secure fold-over clip clasp, stamped 9ct alongside South African hallmarks and the maker’s mark “Oblo jewellers”.
Amethyst’s rich purple-violet hue has long been associated with royalty and prized throughout history for both its beauty and symbolism. As the birthstone of February, it also has a romantic connection with Saint Valentine, who was said to have worn an amethyst ring carved of cupid, making it a popular Valentine’s gift and a timeless symbol of loyal love and devotion.
Beautifully preserved, this vintage bracelet has developed a desirable rosy-gold patina with age. Elegant and feminine, it is a beautifully made piece set with a luxurious collection of natural amethysts. A timeless gift for someone special.
