A grand vintage cocktail ring built around a magnificent cabochon amethyst weighing an impressive 8 carats (approx.) It has a desirable deep purple hue and smooth, domed surface and is bezel set in a large 9ct gold gallery with a rope border and split shoulders on either side.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
It’s an imposing statement piece, in excellent condition and complete with London hallmarks in the band dating to 1974.
