Product Details
A fabulous vintage emerald diamond crescent moon brooch fashioned in 9ct white/ yellow gold. It’s lined with an alternating pattern of nine green emeralds and eight brilliant-cut diamonds that graduate in size from each tip (approx. 0.80ct of emerald, 0.50ct of diamond).
Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th and 20th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. The crescent moon was a symbol of the Greek God Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and represented change and female empowerment in the Victorian Era.
The piece is fitted with a secure pin and locking catch at the back and London hallmarks at the side, dating to 1973. It’s in excellent condition and displays gorgeous natural gems that contrast and complement each other beautifully.
We recommend you insure for £2,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
