Details
This breath-taking fire opal pendant is built around a seductive cushion-cut centre stone, weighing approx. 6 carats. The opal radiates a blazing blood-orange hue, its intricate facets at the back catching the light and shimmering like a living fire beneath the surface. It’s claw-set within a secure 14ct white gold frame, bordered by a sparkling border of brilliant-cut diamonds that continue gracefully up the hinged bale. The diamonds display excellent VS1 clarity, H colour, and have a combined weight of approx. 0.45 carats, adding a crisp sparkle that beautifully contrasts with the opal’s fiery glow.
Formed within ancient volcanic rock cavities, fire opals are unlike any other variety of opal. Celebrated for their semi-transparent body and vivid orange to red tones. They are mostly sourced in Mexico and were revered by the ancient Aztecs that believed it to be so beautiful that they could only have been created in paradise.
This glamorous pendant will look elegant displayed on the end of a fine white gold chain, resting at the chest, with the warm centre stone appearing to channel the hearts fiery passion.
We recommend you insure this fire opal pendant for £4,200. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
